The Head and Neck Cancer Team of Taipei Medical University is established under the Taipei Cancer Center, with the goal of improving the clinical treatment capabilities of head and neck cancer team members, strengthening relevant education and training, and increasing research capacity.

The Head and Neck Cancer Team of Taipei Medical University is established under the Taipei Cancer Center, with the goal of improving the clinical treatment capabilities of head and neck cancer team members, strengthening relevant education and training, and increasing research capacity. The team is composed of members of the head and neck cancer teams of the affiliated hospitals (Taipei Medical University Hospital, Wanfang Hospital, Shuanghe Hospital), including the otolaryngologists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, radiologists, nuclear medical physician, pathologist, etc. Later, to strengthen the basic research capabilities of the team and match up joint research opportunities, the basic researchers of the College of Oral Medicine and the Institute of Clinical Medicine of Taipei Medical University were recruited in 2022. Through basic and clinical exchanges, innovative research directions are also stimulated. The Head and Neck Cancer Team of Taipei Medical University holds monthly team meetings. The content of the meeting includes the sharing of clinical experience of team members, special speeches related to clinical treatment, and exchange of basic research on head and neck cancer. Another task of the head and neck cancer team of Taipei Medical University is to formulate the guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of head and neck cancer shared by one university and three hospitals. Based on the latest medical evidence and credible international clinical guidelines, the team discusses and formulates guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of head and neck cancer patients in Taiwan every year, which serves as an important basis for team members to make clinical decisions. In the future, the Head and Neck Cancer Team will follow the development direction of the university, take it as its own responsibility to become an innovative team, and continue to work hard to improve the treatment of head and neck cancer in Taiwan.
